Sao Paulo deny Lucas reports

Sao Paulo have rejected claims Inter Milan are close to tying up a deal for Brazilian starlet Lucas Moura.

Manchester United have expressed an interest in signing Lucas this summer but have been unable to agree a fee, with his club apparently seeking €40 million for the 19-year-old.
Inter have also confirmed their interest in the player, with director Marco Branca travelling to Brazil to discuss the deal, but president Massimo Moratti had expressed some doubt as to whether an agreement would be reached. "As you know we are strongly interested in the guy," Moratti said, "but our interest does not compel us to accept every kind of condition imposed."
On Thursday evening, Sky Sport Italia reported that Inter had agreed a €27 million transfer fee, which could rise to €32 million depending on appearances, but Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes said: "I'm not aware of this information.
"I was with [Sao Paulo president] Juvenal Juvencio on Wednesday and Thursday. We only negotiated with Manchester United, but their offer was not good enough."
