Summer Clearance Sale

1:Ashley Young:
There is no surprise that, the former aston villa man heads the list.He has been all way down after his prolific first season at the United. The club also suffered for his bad reputation for diving. We need a fearless winger woh dribbles past the defender and score goals or create chances.

2:Nani
Alongside Young, the next man on the list is Nani.Manchester United's all successful seasons, there is a huge contribution from the wingers apart from the 2012-13 season where the strikers compensated the declining midfield.Last Season he signs a new five year deal with the club which doesn't make any sense. But now,it's time to rethink.

3:Tom Cleverly:
The player who came with the tag of "next Paul Scholes" is not upto the minimum expection so far.He doesn't score a goal or play a killer pass for last entire season.Manchester United don't need a reverse passer.

Moyes take charge.

As a new era began at Manchester United on Monday, a lingering problem from the final days of Alex Ferguson’s trophy-laden tenure was casting a shadow over David Moyes’ first official day in charge of the English champions.
Nearly two months after being hired as successor to Ferguson, Moyes was met by a row of photographers under grey skies when he arrived at United’s training ground to start his planning ahead of the new season.
Moyes has already put his stamp on the new role, bringing in three coaches from former club Everton to join his backroom staff, but it’s the future of Wayne Rooney that will be the Scot’s biggest priority this week.
Speculation over where the England striker will be playing next season has been dominating the sports pages in British newspapers this off-season – and will continue to do so until he sits down with Moyes and the pair decide where Rooney’s future lies.
Rooney, who isn’t due in for the first day of training until Wednesday or Thursday, sat out the final matches of Ferguson’s 26-year tenure after putting in a transfer request because he was frustrated at being substituted in some matches last season, notably the Champions League last-16 second leg against Real Madrid.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have been heavily linked with the burly striker, even though Ferguson insisted before he ended his time at United that Rooney wouldn’t be leaving.
The situation is even more delicate because it was Moyes who sold Rooney to United back in 2004, when manager of Everton, and then launched successful legal action against the striker over allegations in Rooney’s autobiography that the Scot leaked details of a private conversation to the media about the factors behind the move from Everton.
The pair’s relationship has improved since then, but Moyes has to decide whether to persevere with a player who has tested the patience and loyalty of United fans after putting in two transfer requests in 2 1/2 years.
If there is no official announcement regarding Rooney over the next week, the make-up of the United squad to tour the Far East from July 10 will make interesting reading.
Life at United will be much different compared to Moyes’ 11 years at Everton, where he was heralded as one of the brightest managers in English football despite never winning a major trophy. Silverware will be demanded at United in the first year of his six-year deal, with the northwest club having been accustomed to capturing titles under Ferguson.
Moyes will also be under the spotlight much more off the pitch. United’s global appeal was further underlined Monday when it added True Corporation Plc, one of Thailand’s leading telecommunications companies, to its growing array of commercial sponsors on a three-year deal.
True will become United’s official mobile partner for Thailand, the club’s official in-house TV broadcaster in the country and also be the associate match sponsor for the Bangkok leg of the preseason tour, when United plays Singha All Stars on July 13.
Moyes will need his squad to be in perfect shape for the start of the new Premier League season, with United having been given a tough early fixture list that includes games against Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City in the opening five matches.
Steve Round will be Moyes’ assistant, replacing Mike Phelan, after being the Scot’s No. 2 at Everton since July 2008.
Former England international Chris Woods also arrives from Goodison Park to be goalkeeping coach and Jimmy Lumsden will be another coach on United’s books.
“I have worked with Steve, Chris and Jimmy for a number of years and I am delighted they have decided to join me at this great club,” Moyes said. “They bring great qualities in their respective fields and I know that, like me, they feel that this is a challenge to relish.
“I have great faith that, together, we can build upon the success this club has enjoyed over many years.”
Ed Woodward, United’s executive vice chairman, said: “This is an exciting and challenging time for the club and I have great belief that David and his team will have all the energy and attributes needed to help this club continue in its long-standing traditions.”

Rafael: I've become a man for Manchester United this year

Manchester United defender Rafael feels he has become a "man" a breakthrough 2012.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has been a regular feature of the United side at right-back throughout the calendar year.

Aside from an aberration at Reading earlier this month, when he was substituted after just 31 tortured minutes, Rafael has been one of the side's most consistent performers.

Rafael told the club's website, www.manutd.com: "It's been a great year for me.

"I feel like I have grown up a lot and that I am maturing.

"My daughter was born this year, which has helped me a lot in that way, and on the pitch I have been able to play a lot of games.

"So I've had a lot of good moments, not just in football, but in life this year.

"I feel more experienced and like I am growing as a player and a person.

"I was only 18 when I first came here, I was just a boy. Some people may think I am still young and still a boy but now I feel like I am man.

"Playing games week-in, week-out helps you feel more comfortable and confident on the pitch and I'm pleased I've been able to do that this season."

United lead the Barclays Premier League by six points heading into the Christmas fixtures and the team are safely through to the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Rafael, who signed a four-year contract last summer, said: "My target for 2013 is like every player - we want to win trophies.

"When you're at this club that has to be your focus - we all want to win.

"And personally I want to play as many games as I can and be consistent in my performances.

"When you get into January you know the really important time in the season is not the far away and there will be big game after big game.

"Of course, every game is important but after Christmas they become massive matches."

Fergie prepares to welcome back Smalling, Young and Jones

The injury crisis crippling Manchester United will end soon with Ashley Young and Chris Smalling preparing to make welcome returns to the side.
And there's more good news for Sir Alex Ferguson as Phil Jones is on course to make his comeback after missing the start of the season due to a knee injury.
United have been beset by a huge number of injuries this term with Fergie having to field a number of makeshift defensive line-ups.

And while captain Nemanja Vidic will remain sidelined for another four weeks, it seems the club are turning a corner.
Sir Alex will be able to add Smalling and Young's names to the team sheet for the visit of Stoke on Saturday.
Smalling returned to full training last week and Young's knee complaint has now been resolved after missing the last five league meetings.
Jones underwent a knee operation last month, another setback after the back problems he suffered throughout the summer.
HIs rehabilitation has been successful and is on course be back in time to face Arsenal on November 3.
The good news comes after the United boss brought Darren Fletcher and Antonio Valencia back into the squad after spells on the sidelines.

Nemanja Vidic urges Manchester United fans to show Liverpool respect

Nemanja Vidic has called on Manchester United supporters to set an example at Anfield on Sunday by being on their best behaviour and paying respect to the 96 Liverpool supporters who lost their lives at Hillsborough 23 years ago.
Referring to the Munich air disaster in 1958, as well as the Hillsborough tragedy, the United captain stressed "football is never more important than any life" and said it was time for both clubs to respect one another on what is sure to be a highly emotional occasion.
In the first match to be played at Anfield since the Hillsborough Independent Panel report was published last week, Vidic and Steven Gerrard, the two captains, will release 96 red balloons before kick-off as a tribute to the victims. The report cleared Liverpool fans of any wrongdoing and exposed the full scale of the police cover-up that prevented the real reasons behind the disaster from coming out before.
Sir Alex Ferguson has empathised with the families and promised Liverpool unqualified support on Sunday, although with the rivalry between the two clubs so fierce and a minority of United supporters singing anti-Liverpool songs during last Saturday's game against Wigan Athletic, there have been fears that the enmity could resurface.
Vidic, however, is confident that will not be the case. "I am aware of the sensitivity of the day. Everybody is. There is a lot of talk in the papers and the media. I think our fans will respond well," he said. "The whole country is on test in this one. All over the world they will be watching this game. It is probably the biggest derby in the world and we have to show we are capable of keeping a good atmosphere and being a good example to the kids.
"There is a lot of history with these two clubs. I think we should respect each other because we are big clubs and clubs that are respected in the world. We have to be on top of the bad situation and behave well and, I would say, be an example.
"I've been here for seven years and I think our fans always behave well and I think they will do it again. It is difficult to control all the fans but I think most of them are aware of the responsibility. On the pitch we have to take responsibility and play football. After this game everyone should be talking about the football and that's all. I hope that will be the case."
Having grown up in war-torn Serbia, Vidic said that he knows the importance of keeping things in perspective. "Football is important but it is never more important than life, any life. It doesn't matter if it's in England or Serbia or any part of the world. I think most important is that we have to respect any life and I think that we will do it on that day. We have our history and we have some tragedies as well, and we love people to respect the players [that lost their lives in Munich]. Obviously people from Man United have had tragedy and I don't think it will be different for Liverpool fans."
In an unwanted sideshow to the Hillsborough tribute and the game itself, Luis Suárez and Patrice Evra will come face to face at the ground where the Liverpool striker was found guilty of racially abusing the United defender 10 months ago.
When they came up against each other at Old Trafford in February, Suárez was widely criticised after he refused to shake Evra's hand, although the early indications are that there will be no repeat of that snub at Anfield on Sunday.
"To be fair, I don't want to think about that," Vidic said. "Obviously we want to focus on the game. We have a theme, what happened in history about the fans and we have to respect that day. Obviously we cannot come with any other issues, we just come there play football.
"If they shake hands, they shake hands – I don't think it's the most important thing in the world. I think it's important to not do any stupid things in the game, to go there and play football – what we dream of, to play that derby and to be all about the football, not about the fighting or any other things."
Kenny Dalglish will return to Anfield on Sunday for the first time since being sacked as manager in a show of support for the 96 Liverpool supporters who died at Hillsborough and the families who fought for 23 years for the truth of what happened on 15 April 1989.
Dalglish was Liverpool manager at the time of the disaster and was closely involved in the club's response afterwards, attending many funerals with his wife, Marina. The emotional toll eventually led to him stepping down as manager in 1991.
The Anfield legend has not returned to the club since his departure in May but will be in the directors' box against Manchester United as Liverpool mark the findings of the Hillsborough Independent Panel with a mosaic around three sides of the stadium and recognition of the tireless work conducted by the campaign groups.

Angelo Henriquez ready to 'improve physically'

New Manchester United signing Angelo Henriquez has stated that he will have to “improve physically” in order to stake a claim for a regular place in Sir Alex Ferguson‘s starting eleven.

The 18-year-old striker arrived at Old Trafford with a burgeoning reputation in his native Chile, where he has scored 11 goals in 17 league appearances for Universidad de Chile and 14 goals in 9 games at Under-20 international level this calender year.

But, despite a promising start to his career, Henriquez admitted that in order to cope with the rigorous demands of the Premier League, he will have to be at the top of his game both technically and physically.

He told Radio Bio Bio: "I won't ask to be given some minutes and nor will I pretend I'm better than I really am."

"I have to go step by step. I have to adapt and improve physically."

"I'm training and looking to get an opportunity.

"There are many things I have to improve to reach the level of Manchester United."

'He has it all' - Young hails Manchester United team-mate Valencia

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has spoken in glowing terms of team-mate Antonio Valencia, claiming that the Ecuadorian "has it all".

The 27-year-old, who arrived from Wigan in 2009, enjoyed arguably his best season at Old Trafford last term - winning the club's fans' and players' player of the year awards.

And Young has insisted Valencia fully deserved the accolades and hailed his professionalism as the reason for his success.

"Last season he had everything," he told the club's official website.
"He attacks, he defends, he can shoot, he can cross, he can pass... he has it all and that's why he scooped up everything at the end-of-season awards. It's why the players voted for him and it's why the fans voted for him.
"He's fantastic to play with. Antonio, like every other player, knows how to look after himself as well – he knows what to eat, what to drink and he works closely with our fitness coaches."
Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson was also was full of praise for the wideman and backed him to further improve this season.
"Antonio is always very professional and a great human being. I'm very happy with him," he said.
"He’s one of those players who is constantly maturing. Without doubt, his best position is wide right – he’s fantastic there."
